An explosion has occurred in central Kaduna killing at least 10 people, a witness has said.
The blast occurred Wednesday afternoon along Isa Kaita road which leads to the popular Murtala Square.
A witness said the explosion is believed to have targeted the convoy of a prominent Islamic cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, who was on his way to the Square.
The witness, Hassan Mohammed, told Forumspotz_crew that the bomb, concealed in a red Volkswagen golf car parked by the road side, was detonated as the cleric’s convoy drove past.
The sheikh escaped unhurt, the witness said.
“As I speak to you now, I can see many bodies on the ground,” Mr. Mohammed said.
The police could not be immediately reached.
But the witness said security and emergency officials have arrived at the scene evacuating the victims of the blast.
The blast is the second targeting Mr. Bauchi in Kaduna State. In June, an explosion occurred near his house, injuring one person.
The Sheikh is a known critic of the extremist Boko Haram sect. It is however not clear whether the group is responsible for the attack.
[b]UPDATE:[/b] According to BBC, the police said 25 people were killed. While a local trader Yusuf Suleiman said he had counted 15 bodies in a police van after the blast.

The shocking footage, which was shared on Youtube (its since been removed), shows the couple, suspected to be in their 30s, unfazed as cars passed them. And when they finished, the man kneels on the ground as the woman slowly gets to her feet and re-arranges her mini-skirt before he passes her a tissue. They couldn’t get a room? Or it’s something they needed to cross off on their bucket list? Lol.

FIFA RANKINGS: Nigeria Now Ranked 34th In The World.
It is the coveted list that cements your country as a force to be reckoned with in the football world. Just in case you don’t know, we are taking about the FIFA World Ranking.
The 2014 World Cup was the place to try to up the ante and keep people buzzing about the players in the country.
Our Super Eagles may have lost to France in the Quarter Finals, but they were clearly greatly appreciated. Out of 208 countries listed, Nigeria takes the 34th slot, that is 10 spots up from the previous list.
The Eagles are now the third-ranked African side behind Algeria and Cote d’Ivoire who finished in the 24th and 25th positions.
Of course, champions Germany take the number one position, with Argentina coming in 2nd, Netherlands 3rd, Colombia 4th and Belgium 5th. Brazil who had a humiliating finish takes the 7th position and France rounds up the Top 10.

SAD NEWS!! Many killed, churches, houses razed as Boko Haram invades Borno
Suspected members of Boko Haram sect very early yesterday morning July 14th invaded Dille Village in Askira-Uba LGA of Borno State, killing at least five people and razed 3 churches including the Church of Brethern in Nigeria, EYN, as well as shops and residential buildings.
Security officials were said to have arrived the village in two Nigerian Air Force fighter jets and killed many of the terrorists. Dille village is around the shores of Sambisa forest.

Rumeysa Gelgi, a 17-year-old girl from Turkey has been named the Worlds tallest female teenager. At 7ft tall ,she received the Guinness World Record award in her hometown of Safranbolu, Karabük.
Rumeysa whose height is caused by a condition,Weaver Syndrome( a rare genetic disorder that causes rapid growth)is also an 11th grade high school student and her parents and older siblings, are all ‘normal’ height.
She said.....
'I like being different from everyone else. It’s interesting and makes me feel special. It also provides me with easy access to high places, and looking down at people from above isn’t a bad thing either.'

Military Arrests Three Female Boko Haram Suspects [See Photos]
Troops have arrested three suspected
female terrorists who have been
secretly recruiting ladies into the
female wing of the violent Islamic sect,
Boko Haram.
The suspects, Hafsat Bako, Zainab Idris
and Aisha Abubakar, were arrested
while travelling to Madagali from where
they were to transit to the Sambisa
forest to reunite with their
accomplices.
A statement by Col. Onyema
Nwachukwu on behalf of the Director,
Defence Information, in Abuja on Friday,
said investigations revealed that the
suspects, led by Bako, were on a
mission to recruit members into the
female wing as well as spy for the sect.
Bako’s link with the terrorists group
had earlier been a subject of
investigation in 2012, when security
agents on a man-hunt for one Usman
Bako, her husband who was identified
as a terrorist, stormed their residence
in Jimeta.
This, the statement added, resulted in
the discovery of an AK 47 rifle and two
loaded magazines.
The statement said,
“Though Usman Bako later died in an
encounter with troops in Sokoto
where he had relocated to continue
his terrorist activities, Hafsat
continued with the terror group,
specialising in surreptitious
recruitment of female members.
“The suspects were luring ladies
especially widows and young girls
by enticing them with male suitors
who are mainly members of the
terror group for marriage.”
The Defence headquarters,
however, said the female terror
suspects had been operating with
members of the intelligence team
of Boko Haram, adding that their
arrest had yielded information
being verified by security agencies.

scams. that is the story of fraudster,
38-year-old Frank Onyeachonam
nicknamed 'Fizzy' because of his love of
champagne has been jailed for eight
years for conning vulnerable
pensioners out of their life savings.
Fizzy ran the UK end of global lottery
scam that was orchestrated from
Nigeria for seven years.
Pictures he posted on Facebook show
he spent the cash on Gucci, Louis
Vuitton and Armani designer clothes,
Rolex watches, Porsches and
Maseratis.
He even stuck wads of what look like
£50 notes in his Buzz Lightyear toy.
Onyeachonam, of Canning Town, east
London, was found guilty at the Old
Bailey of conspiracy to defraud
following a three-week trial.
Lawrencia Emenyonu, 38, and Bernard
Armah, 51, both of Wood Green, north
London, were also found guilty of
money laundering. All three denied the
charges.
Emenyonu was jailed for 18 months
while her partner Armah received an
eight-month term.

Female Rappers Are Not Appreciated In Nigeria – Kel (Must Read)

talks about her hiatus from the music
scene.

On her deliberate hiatus
“I am working on other projects
which are all entertainment
related. Although I haven’t
recorded any new song lately, I am
working to release a come-back
album before the year runs out. I
have only stepped aside to take
care of my education and to sort
out pending issues with my former
records label. I want to work on my
music and myself, physically and
mentally. But I am still in touch with
the Nigerian music scene. Also, I am
a brand ambassador for SOULMATE
Industries.”
On her imminent return to the music
scene
“When I eventually return to the
music scene, those who appreciate
my kind of music will still embrace it.
Yes, the industry has changed. So
have people’s motives and
standard for music changed. Some
people have come out with very
amazing music that people are
accepting these days and others
have also come out with very
ridiculous and funny music.
“Some people are also accepting
the industry that has gone down in
some areas. But in terms of
international appeal, a lot of
artistes have bridged that gap
internationally, which is a good
thing. Content wise, the music is
depleted. Thankfully, people are
getting tired of “club songs” with
the same old beats and lyrics.
Competition is something I don’t
focus on. I have never done it and I
never will.”
The fact that the rap music scene in
Nigeria is being run by the male
rappers, with a few female rappers
slowly tagging along, is no longer
news. Save for the likes of Eva,
Sasha P, Muna and Weird MC-who
are yet to hold their own
competition-wise and a crop of
underground acts, it is indeed a
tough call for female rappers.
“Rap will always be a looked down
upon as a music genre in Nigeria.
The truth is that only two percent
of the country’s population really
appreciates rap music for what it is.
Being a female rapper in Nigeria
puts you under so much pressure,
but I won’t be switching genres
when I return. I just want to
release my new album as a
surprise. I am not signed on to any
records label because I run my own
label and won’t be signing on any
artiste for now,” she said.
On maturity and what her absence has
taught her
“I used to read what was written
about me, become saddened and
sometimes cry. But I have moved
on. Now I read and laugh a lot,
shake my head, and sometimes
share jokes with friends. I have
grown wiser and stronger and more
comfortable and honest with who I
am. Experience has taught me a lot
and I have learnt that nobody will
look out for you like you can.
“Right now, I will make music that is
raw and real.. I miss performing on
stage. Some people said I left
because I was broke and started a
family somewhere. But they are all
wrong. I am dedicated to my work
and music for now. I won’t be
releasing a double album because
that will be too much music at once.
Nigerian artistes are doing well
especially on the international
level.”
